In a global ranking of countries, Ireland comes 97th in the Sustainable Society Index 2008, no improvement from the 2006 measure. On a scale from 1 to 10 where 10 is the level of full sustainability, Ireland scored 5.54, a long way from full sustainability and below the global average of 5.7

It's all connected.......

Often the exploitation of nature has been done in an unsustainable way, which is causing increasing concern, as unsustainable exploitation of natural resources ultimately threatens human existence.

This year the World Wide Fund for nature published the Living Planet Report 2010 and told us that we are using the planet’s resources faster than they can be renewed.
